Sequre is a brand well known in the hobby world for making innovative hobby tools like smart soldering irons and screwdrivers. They are now expanding their offering with component electronics.
This SQESC 28120 is a powerful brushless speed controller (ESC) which makes use of the latest in drone ESC technology. This ESC isnโt just for drones though. Itโs universal to all RC models, be that fixed-wing aircraft, cars, boats and so on.
The ESC is rated for 120A continuous / 150A burst current. It supports a 2-8S (7-33V) voltage input. The ESC runs BLHeli_32 / AM32 firmware (select as required), allowing it to be configured to meet your needs. For example setup relating to: ESC brake, motor timing, direction, throttle calibration, current detection and other settings can be adjusted (ESC programmer required โ here).
The SQESC is sold in two versions โ please select as required. The ESC unsoldered (ideal for FPV racing drones) or pre-wired with the addition of a BEC. The BEC can be used to power your receiver, servos or auxiliary devices – it offers an adjustable voltage output: 5V/4A, 6V/4A, 7.2V/4A, 8.2V/4A, 12V/3A.

Here at Flying Tech we have a wide choice of electronic speed controllers (ESCs).
There are two main types of ESCs: 4-in-1 ESCs and single ESCs. A 4-in-1 ESC integrates four individual ESCs onto a single circuit board, each controlling a separate motor. A single ESC controls only one motor.ย
This 4-in-1 ESC is a more popular choice for racing quads, while single motor aircraft such as fixed wings would use a single ESC. Single ESCs are still used by some drone racers though, as after a crash or a burnt up ESC, they only have to replace one, not an entire 4-in-1 or stack which is a lot more costly. Single ESCs are also available which much greater current ratings (80amp +) so they are also used by power hungry multi-rotors, for example X-Class racing quads, professional camera flying โCineliftersโ.ย
When using individual ESCs, they typically need to be connected to a single power distribution board (PDB) or an โAIO flight controllerโ (a type of flight controller with integrated PDB) for power supply.
