The TBS Lucid 3S–16S 120A Rawdog Single ESC is the stripped-down, bare-bones version of the Lucid 200A ESC. It uses the same core hardware and AM32 performance DNA, but is supplied without a heatsink or capacitors, giving experienced builders full control over cooling and power filtering in high-voltage applications.
Built on a 10-layer high current density PCB, the ESC offers excellent electrical and thermal resilience for demanding setups. It runs AlkaMotors32 (AM32) firmware, supporting bi-directional DShot 300/600 and KISS ESC telemetry, with built-in current and voltage sensing to simplify system integration. Integrated TVS protection helps reduce voltage spikes commonly seen in large, high-power propulsion systems.
The Rawdog ESC is rated for 120A out of the box and supports a wide 3–16S LiPo input range. When paired with user-supplied capacitors and adequate cooling, the underlying hardware allows significantly higher performance, making it suitable for custom heavy-lift, industrial, and experimental platforms. Propellers up to 32 inches are supported when sufficient airflow is provided.
IMPORTANT NOTES
Users must add their own capacitors; TBS recommend three 470 µF 100V capacitors. The ESC will run up to 120A out of the box, but the moment you add your own heatsink you unlock the full potential of the underlying hardware.
As with other high-voltage ESCs, the signal ground must be connected back to the flight controller for reliable operation. IP-rated versions are available on request.

Here at Flying Tech we have a wide choice of electronic speed controllers (ESCs).
There are two main types of ESCs: 4-in-1 ESCs and single ESCs. A 4-in-1 ESC integrates four individual ESCs onto a single circuit board, each controlling a separate motor. A single ESC controls only one motor.
This 4-in-1 ESC is a more popular choice for racing quads, while single motor aircraft such as fixed wings would use a single ESC. Single ESCs are still used by some drone racers though, as after a crash or a burnt up ESC, they only have to replace one, not an entire 4-in-1 or stack which is a lot more costly. Single ESCs are also available which much greater current ratings (80amp +) so they are also used by power hungry multi-rotors, for example X-Class racing quads, professional camera flying “Cinelifters”.
When using individual ESCs, they typically need to be connected to a single power distribution board (PDB) or an “AIO flight controller” (a type of flight controller with integrated PDB) for power supply.
