This is our High Voltage version of the Power Module for the Pixhawk / APM. It provides a plug and play solution for powering your flight controller with clean power from a LiPo battery, as well as reporting battery voltage and current consumption for logging and live telemetry. The on-board switching regulator outputs 5.4V at a maximum of 3A, and can be used up to 50Volts (12S LiPo) with a maximum current sensing rating of 90 amps. The Power Module comes ready to use with XT60 connectors pre-fitted, and shrink wrapped for protection.
The Pixhawk and APM 2.x have a dedicated connector for attaching a Power Module (PM). This is useful because it:
- Provides a stable power supply which reduces the chances of a brown-out.
- Allows monitoring of the battery’s voltage and current and triggering a return-to-launch when the voltage becomes low or the total power consumed during the flight approaches the battery’s capacity.
- Allows the autopilot firmware to more accurately compensate for the interference on the compass from other components.
Note: The Power Module is rated at 3 Amps to power the FC, receiver and peripherals (GPS and Telemetry radio) ONLY. To power servos use an ESC with an adequate BEC or a standalone BEC plugged into the Aux output rail.
