The Tarot TL718 is a compact professional folding quadcopter frame designed for applications where portability, payload capacity and quick deployment are equally important. With a 718mm wheelbase and innovative wrap-around folding design, the frame folds down to just 342 × 342mm, making it easy to transport without compromising performance in the air.
Rather than using a conventional umbrella-style folding mechanism, the TL718 features a unique horizontal folding system with 360° counter-rotating arms. Each arm is secured by a robust swivel locking mechanism that keeps the frame rigid during flight while allowing it to be folded quickly for storage and transport. Combined with folding propellers, the frame occupies very little space when packed away.
The airframe is manufactured from an integrated injection-moulded composite containing 30% carbon fibre, producing a strong, lightweight structure capable of supporting payloads of up to 3kg. The integrated motor mounts neatly house compatible ESCs for a clean installation, while the spacious central fuselage provides ample room for flight electronics, batteries and additional equipment. A large lower mounting platform makes it easy to install cameras, sensors or other mission-specific payloads, and thoughtfully designed cable routing simplifies the installation of Tarot power distribution boards and other popular flight control systems.
Tarot recommends pairing the TL718 with their 4012 320KV motors and Hobbywing XRotor Pro 40A ESCs, a combination that has been tested to provide flight times of up to 40 minutes under ideal conditions.
Built using the high manufacturing standards expected from Tarot, the TL718 provides a versatile and highly portable platform for professional UAV applications including aerial surveying, inspection, remote sensing, agriculture, search and rescue, fire monitoring and surveillance.
