FrSky Tandem XE RS Dual Band 900M/2.4GHz Radio Transmitter

Building on the success of the original TANDEM XE, the FrSky TANDEM XE RS is the latest flagship tray radio in the TANDEM series. Designed for pilots who prefer pinch-style flying, the XE RS combines a spacious tray layout with FrSky’s simultaneous 2.4GHz and 900MHz dual-band technology, the ETHOS operating system, and an extensive range of configurable controls.

The biggest improvements over the original XE are the new TD-ISRM Pro internal RF module, support for the latest TW protocol, upgraded MC30R-XE CNC hall sensor gimbals, and a brighter secondary display with improved visibility in direct sunlight. Together these upgrades make the XE RS FrSky’s most advanced tray transmitter to date.

Dual Colour Display

The XE RS features a 4.3-inch colour touchscreen for model setup and configuration in ETHOS, complemented by a separate 2.4-inch colour display positioned above the controls. The secondary screen can be customised using Lua scripts to display telemetry, timers or other flight information, allowing important data to remain visible without changing screens. The upgraded display offers significantly improved readability outdoors.

Upgraded MC30R-XE Gimbals

The all-CNC machined MC30R-XE hall sensor gimbals feature 10 ball bearings for exceptionally smooth operation. Unlike the original XE, the RS allows spring tension, damping, ratchet feel and stick travel adjustments to be made directly from the front of the radio without disassembly. The gimbals also support optional 3D and 5D gimbal extenders for specialist ground vehicle applications.

Flexible Modular Design

Like the original XE, the RS has been designed around a modular control system. Switch blocks can be replaced with alternative configurations to suit different aircraft or vehicle types, while optional self-centring side levers make the transmitter equally suitable for crawlers, excavators and other RC ground vehicles.

The fold-away aluminium stand is neatly integrated into the transmitter and doubles as a convenient attachment point for a tray strap.

Internal flash storage is complemented by a MicroSD card slot, while USB-C provides charging, firmware updates and fast data transfer.
