The Matek AP_Periph CAN Node L431 is a versatile DroneCAN peripheral interface board designed for ArduPilot systems. Running ArduPilot’s AP_Periph firmware on an STM32L431 microcontroller, it allows supported UART, I²C, SPI and GPIO devices to be converted into native DroneCAN peripherals, simplifying wiring while improving reliability and expandability.
The CAN Node L431 can interface with supported GNSS receivers, compasses, barometers and airspeed sensors, as well as providing PWM outputs, buzzer/LED notification and battery voltage/current monitoring over the DroneCAN bus. It features three UARTs, I²C, SPI, four ADC inputs and five PWM outputs, making it ideal for creating custom DroneCAN peripherals or integrating existing sensors into an ArduPilot CAN network.
With dual JST-GH CAN connectors for easy daisy-chaining and support for firmware updates through the DroneCAN GUI Tool, the CAN Node L431 is a flexible solution for both UAV builders and developers looking to expand the capabilities of their ArduPilot-based aircraft.
