The Lemon Rx DSMP Plug & Go Transmitter Module (Generation 2) adds DSMX and DSM2 receiver compatibility to radios equipped with a JR-style module bay. Designed for modern EdgeTX transmitters, it operates in serial mode with compatible radios from RadioMaster, Jumper, FrSky and others, while retaining PPM support for a wide range of legacy transmitters.
Using Lemon Rx’s DSMP protocol, the module provides compatibility with DSMX and DSM2 receivers, including Lemon Rx receivers and many Spektrum-compatible Bind-N-Fly and UMX models. When used in EdgeTX serial mode, additional features include telemetry, TEXGEN, Forward Programming and Model Match.
For older transmitters, the module can also operate using a conventional PPM connection, making it a useful option for adding DSM2/DSMX compatibility to both modern and legacy JR-bay radios.
EdgeTX Serial Setup
- Make sure your transmitter is running the latest version of EdgeTX and DSM Tools.
- Under Model Setup, select External Module and set the mode to LemonRX DSMP.
- If your radio uses AETR channel order, enable AETR to remap the channels to TAER for compatibility with Lemon Rx and Spektrum receivers.
- Disable telemetry alarms, as these are not supported by the module.
- Put the receiver into bind mode, then select Bind under External RF on the transmitter.
- Range Check is also available through the External RF settings.
Legacy PPM Setup & Binding
- Under Model Setup, select External Module and set the mode to PPM.
- Turn the transmitter off and put the receiver into bind mode.
- Press and hold the Bind/Range Check button on the module while turning the transmitter on.
- Continue holding the button until the module LED turns green. The receiver LED should become solid once binding is complete.
For best results, Lemon Rx recommends a distance of approximately 1 metre between the transmitter module and receiver during binding.
