The TBS Lucid DroneCAN Airspeed Sensor PRO is a high-precision airspeed sensor designed for demanding fixed-wing and VTOL platforms where accurate and stable airspeed data is critical. It supports DroneCAN via a CAN JST-GH connector and direct I2C output, and is supplied complete with a stainless steel pitot tube and silicone tubing for immediate installation.
This PRO version uses the DLVR-L10D pressure sensor, delivering significantly higher accuracy and resolution than standard airspeed sensors. With ±0.30% accuracy and 14-bit output, it provides clean, low-noise airspeed data that is particularly beneficial for TECS, energy management, and advanced autopilot tuning. Firmware is based on ArduPilot AP_Periph and can be updated via the DroneCAN GUI tool.
If you require a wider maximum airspeed range and a more cost-effective solution, the standard TBS Lucid DroneCAN Airspeed Sensor remains a solid option for general fixed-wing use.
SETUP
DRONECAN MODE
- Verify the following parameters are set on your autopilot via your ground station.
- CAN_P1_DRIVER = 1 (assuming its on the first CAN bus of the autopilot)
- ARSPD_TYPE = 8 (DroneCAN)
I2C MODE
- ARSPD_TYPE = 9 (DLVR-10)
- ARSPD_USE = 1 to enable using the sensor on autopilots external I2C bus
