The FrSky ASS-100 Air Speed sensor is designed for use with FrSky Smart Port enabled systems and provides valuable airspeed data in real time via the FrSky telemetry system.
Supplied as a simple, plug and play system, the sensor takes air pressure data from the alloy pitot tube via 2 flexible silicone tubes (one from the pressure port and the other from the static port) and sends the data to your FrSky transmitter via your Smart Port equipped X-series receiver. Aside from using it to simply display airspeed data, if you utilise the power of your Taranis radio it’s possible to configure audible warnings for low airspeed, record top speed and even program your radio to automatically deploy the landing gear at a pre-set airspeed etc.
For accurate airspeed measurement the pitot tube should be located in clean airflow, well away from propeller wash and exhaust residue. The sensor unit itself can be installed within the fuselage being connected to the pitot tube via the provided silicon tubes.
There are 2 variants of FrSky air speed sensors. The SP-ASS-70 can accurately measure airspeed up to 167.7 mph, (270 kmh). The SP-ASS-100 measures up to 223.7 mph, (360 km/h).
This sensor can be “daisy-chained” together with other FrSky telemetry sensors such as battery voltage, current, RPM, variometer and GPS to provide a complete data package.
Features:
- Capable of connecting directly to the telemetry receivers without a sensor hub.
- Simple installation
- Smart Port enabled, realizing two-way full duplex transmission.
