SkyRC TLD001 Thermologger Duo

It is a well-known fact that electronics and heat do not mix well. Motor or ESC failure is often caused by excessive heat. Furthermore electronics are generally more efficient at lower temperatures, so optimising your setup to keep electronics as cool as possible is always a good idea. You’ll get better performance and longevity.

To help monitor temperatures, many use the touch test, but you risk burning your fingers and it doesn’t tell you a lot. Another way is to use an infrared temp gun. However, such a thermometer can only give you an instant reading. A better solution is SkyRC’s Thermologger Duo. The Thermologger offers the advantage that it not only measures the temperature at a specific point in time, but records and monitors it throughout the journey, creating a thermograph. The thermograph being visual, is easy to understand and gives you a complete picture of how your electronics are performing in regards to heat output.

The Thermologger Duo provides precise temperature measurement with a rapid response time. Its accuracy ranges from ±2.0℃(35.6℉) for temperatures between -20℃(-4℉) and 100℃(212℉) to ±2% for temperatures over 100℃(212℉). With K-type thermocouple temperature sensors that meet industrial standards, users can easily measure contact temperature on various components, such as motors, ESC, servos, heatsinks, wires and even nitro engines. The dual-channel feature of the Thermologger Duo allows you to measure two different contacts simultaneously, effectively making it a portable two-channel telemetry thermal station!

The Thermologger Duo boasts a wide temperature detection range of -20℃-210 (4℉-410℉). Its sampling interval is adjustable from 1 to 5 seconds, making it suitable for most RC hobbyist scenarios. The data can then be called up wirelessly via the free RC Gears mobile app from SkyRC. Using the RC Gears application, you can easily read data in realtime and check thermographs. You can then make educated decisions allowing you to troubleshoot your setup and build successful modifications.

Thermologger Duo is designed for easy installation in the field. The two pairs of 30cm thermocouple wires can be cut-to-length for many runtimes. The set also includes high-quality copper foil stickers with excellent electrical conductivity, adhesion, flexibility, and temperature resistance. The stickers are made of flexible copper that can adapt to almost any shape. Mount the logger with a fastener, cut the wires, and mount with a sticker; you are all set!

TLD001 is compact in size, but it boasts a long battery life. It is powered by CR2450 coin cell battery (included) and lasts for approximately 96 hours of continuous operation under normal conditions. When the battery eventually runs out, it can be easily replaced.
