Upgraded from BD200, the BD250 now offers a maximum of 250 Watts/35 Amps to discharge your batteries even faster!
To prolong the health of RC batteries, you need to balance charge them correctly and discharge them properly too. That means not leaving unused batteries fully charged, but discharging them to their storage voltage. That is where this device comes in handy. The BD250 is powerful battery discharging device. While most good battery chargers have a discharge function, they are more suited to charging batteries so their discharge rates tend to be just a couple of amps at best; anymore and they would overheat. If you are using high capacity, high voltage batteries this means discharging can take forever. Not so with the BD250, with its high-performance cooling system and MOSFETS from the well-known IXYS, it can discharge a battery at up to 35 amps or 250 watts continuously, saving you time and not putting stress on the electronics of your charger. Now you have no excuse for not storage charging your LiPo battieries!
The BD250 is great at discharging batteries, but it’s equally a really useful bit of test equipment for measuring battery capacity and running load tests. It can be control via its rotary dial, or through a PC application. If you operate it via a computer, you can graphically log the discharge curve of the battery and export the battery voltage values at 30 second intervals (for the first six minutes) – the slower the voltage reduces during discharge, the better the battery performance. This can allow you to do useful things like helping you to compare performance and health of different batteries.
The discharger is compatible with any battery chemistry down to a minimum voltage of 5.4v and up to 35volts – which is equivalent to an 8S LiPo. The unit is also self-powered from your battery, so you can use it anywhere.
The BD250 is ruggedly built and uses XT60 connector for battery connection. It is small with a high performance cooling system. A digital LED screen indicates battery voltage, discharged capacity and discharge current.
Features:
- Simple and intuitive operation via rotary dial.
- Digital LED displays shows real time battery voltage, discharged mAH count and discharge current.
- Compatible with LiPo, LiHV, LiFe, NiCd, NiMH& Pb batteries.
- Compatible with PC software to graphically log battery discharge curves.
IMPORTANT:Â Never discharge batteries unattended! Constant supervision is required as batteries can be dangerous when mishandled. We recommend discharging your batteries inside a protective charging bag.
