I am proud to introduce the Mr Steele V6 smooth freestyle motors. After 5 generations and over a decade of professional FPV drone motor usage. I think it’s clear to say that I have found my favorite motor setup. For the wide gambit of freestyle and professional flying that is demanded of me and my gear these motors Just fit the bill perfectly.
The Mr Steele V6 is based around lightweight construction with maximum durability and linear power delivery. The V6 motor comes in two KV, both sporting a 2306 sized stator with my preferred KV of 1750 for all around freestyle and maximum throttle resolution. The motors also come in a hotter 1950KV wind that gives those with a bit more heft or the need for speed the bite they need to stay nimble in demanding flying environments. The new bell design shares elements with an extremely light weight and durable motorsports wheel design that not only looks stellar but can also take a hit.
With these new motors I very much base my setups off of a simple but specific formula. Quad weight, motor kv/stator size, and prop size & pitch. The Mr Steele V6 2306 1750KV motors are suited for quad weights ranging from 550-750g and are suggested to be run with Ethix 5”/5.1” props. I personally love the Ethix P2.9 pickle or P3 PB&J props for hardcore freestyle with a quad weight of approximately 650g. However depending on your elevation above sea level you may want to try the P3.3 Mango Lassi or P3.5 Rad Berry props if you are at higher elevation.
Our V6 1950KV version motors are designed for max power and high RPM and should be paired with 5” or 5.1” props like the S4 Candy Canes or S5 props on lighter racer style builds. These motors also work nicely in heavier applications that need more punch such as car chase filming rigs that are pushing the 800g mark.
