Description

The Walksnail Ascent HD Lite+ Kit is an ultra-lightweight digital FPV system designed for compact drones, racing builds, fixed-wing aircraft and other weight-sensitive FPV applications. Weighing just 2.75g without its metal cover, the VTX delivers up to 500mW transmit power while supporting HD video transmission at up to 1080p/120fps with an average latency of just 35ms. The included camera provides a wide 147° field of view, while a built-in microphone adds real-time audio for a more immersive FPV experience.

For longer-range flying, the Ascent Lite+ offers a claimed transmission distance of up to 8km under ideal conditions, with automatic frequency hopping helping maintain a stable link in challenging RF environments. It also supports Canvas Mode OSD and popular flight-control platforms including Betaflight, iNav, FETtec, KISS and ArduPilot.

The Lite+ works directly with Walksnail Ascent Goggles, or can be paired with an Ascent VRX / VRX Pro for use with HDMI-equipped FPV goggles and displays. Head tracking is also supported with Ascent Goggles and compatible GM1 V2 or GM3 V2 gimbals, making the Lite+ a versatile HD FPV system where low weight, low latency and high image quality are priorities.

Compatibility note: The Ascent Lite+ system uses a different platform to the Walksnail Avatar HD range and is not compatible with Walksnail Avatar HD VTXs, cameras, or goggles.

FAQ

What receiver does Ascent Lite+ work with? Can I use it with my existing FPV goggles?

Ascent Lite+ works directly with Ascent goggles. For other FPV goggles, simply pair it with the Ascent VRX or Ascent VRX Pro receiver, which provides HDMI output to connect any HDMI-equipped goggles, monitors, or TVs.

Does Ascent Lite+ support audio recording?

Ascent Lite+ features a built-in microphone but has no onboard storage. When paired with Ascent Goggles or the Ascent FPV VRX Pro, synchronized audio and video can be recorded to the receiving device’s microSD card at 720p/60fps, 720p/100fps, 720p/120fps, or 1080p/60fps.

Is the 8km range achievable in real-world conditions?

The 8km figure is the maximum one-way range tested on a fixed-wing platform under ideal conditions. Real-world range depends on environment, interference, antenna setup, and battery level. The built-in auto frequency-hopping helps maintain a stable link in challenging conditions.

Is the Ascent Lite+ compatible with the Avatar system?

No. The Ascent Lite+ is part of the Ascent digital system and is not compatible with the Walksnail Avatar system.

How much latency should I expect during flight?

End-to-end latency can be as low as 35ms, measured in open, interference-free environments. Actual latency may vary depending on RF conditions and system configuration.

Can I record flight footage directly on the Lite+?

No. The Ascent Lite+ does not include built-in storage. Please record via your Ascent goggles if you wish to save footage.
