This is the ExpressLRS version of HappyModel’s popular Mobula6 Tiny Whoop. ExpressLRS is an open source RC system that has the characteristics of low latency and a high packet rate. Its link quality is very reliable and provides excellent range, think TBS Crossfire, but a more budget version. There are two versions of the Mobula6 ELRS. One option is fit with a 868Mhz ExpressLRS Serial-based receiver and the other a 2.4GHz ExpressLRS SPI receiver (868Mhz generally has better signal penetration / 2.4ghz has lower latency and a smaller antenna, but ultimately both are incredibly fast and will exceed the FPV range). For both options you will need a radio that supports ExpressLRS, this probably means buying a module as most radios including radios like the RadioMaster TX16S don’t support this protocol as standard.
In addition to the change of receiver, this version of the Mobula 6 is fit with HappyModel’s new 0702 26000KV brushless motor, which is one of the lightest 1S motors on the market. This new motor is also matched with a different prop, a HQProp 31mm Bi-blade.
We think this new version of the Mobula6 is going to be really popular. Previously range has always been an issue with Tiny Whoops, so now thanks to the ExpressLRS receiver you can enjoy this Mobula 6 without having to worry about the failsafe kicking in.
