The DS-4A doesn’t look like any other radio we have ever seen before. This fighter-jet style joystick controller is designed for single handed operation, making it ideal for RC applications such as controlling 2-channel aircraft, cars, tanks, bait boats, even RC lawn mowers and other custom projects. The radio operates on 2.4GHz and has an impressive range, typically 300-400m. The radio offers 4 channels, two of them (CH1+CH2) being fully proportional. Channel 1 is a joystick controlled by your thumb for left and right control, channel 2 is on a trigger control on the back of the handset for throttle and controlled by your index finger. Channel 3 and 4 are on/off switches on the face of the handset. The channel for direction / throttle can be trimmed and the throttle can be reversed as required. Other features include channel range endpoint adjustment, dual motor mixing, failsafe and an auto-shutoff feature that will power down the radio after 15 minutes of no use.
A useful function of this controller is its cruise control feature. To set your cruise speed, simply press the speed button it will lock in your current throttle position until you cancel it by pressing the button again.
The handset requires 4x AA batteries to power it (not included). In addition to the controller, the set includes a 4 channel receiver.
