The SpeedyBee Meteor LED set is an accessory for their Bee35 cinewhoop. Use of it is not limited to that frame as the clever designers SpeedyBee made them universal for all drones, wings, basically anything you want to amazing lighting effects too. The set consists of a voltage power regulator BEC (compatible with 2-6S input) and the light strip itself, which incorporates 126 multi-colour LEDs, measuring 785mm at 10.5g. The LED strip has an adhesive backing so it can be attached easily.
The LED strip is controllable is via a physical push button, flight controller via UART or even wirelessly via the SpeedyBee App control using bluetooth. Using the App you have the ability to customise the lighting effects even more. The controller has a memory so it will display the last lighting mode it was set to. You can also choose to turn the LED strip On or Off. It doesn’t use much power, around 650mAh on 3S, so you won’t noticed increased flight time by turning it off.
Beyond lighting, handily it can also become a wireless flight controller adjustment tool via the SpeedyBee application, using its inbuilt bluetooth module. In this case, you must use a free UART (TX + RX). If the flight controller has a soldering BOOT pad, it is even possible to put the FC in DFU mode with the Meteor LED button to flash the firmware (via USB).
FAQ – Can’t connect via bluetooth? The bluetooth connection is only accessible for 60 seconds after powering up the LEDs so try re-powering the controller and attempt to connect without delay.
