Description

The SKYRC D200neo AC/DC multifunctional charger is the updated version of the D200 and incorporates features found on SkyRC’s flagship T1000 charger. While the T1000 caters primarily to users charging larger batteries, it might be overkill for FPV drone pilots. Enter the D200Neo โ€“ a more affordable, compact charger boasting a similar feature-set.

Theย D200neoย offers twoย channels andย can charge up to 6S LiPo/LiHV/LiFe/LiIon, 15S NiMH/NiCd and 12S Pb batteries. It hasย a maximum power ofย 200W on AC input and a massiveย 800W on DC input. The DC power source could be anotherย battery or dedicateย external Power Supply Unit (PSU), within the range of 10V to 30V. Its dual outputs offers great flexibility asย itโ€™s like having two separate chargers. You can charge two completely different types of batteries, with varying voltages. You can even be discharging one battery while charging another.

In addition to the XT60 sockets, there is a USB-C port which serves for firmware updates andย is used for SkyRCโ€™s data logging software. It can also be used to charge USB devices such as your phone, tablet or camera. The port offers 20W of power andย PD/QC3.0 fast charging.ย You can also use the optional PCH-150 Power & Charging Hub to connect multiple devices and charge them simultaneously at up to 100W.

One of the great features taken from the T1000 charger is the supportย forย couplingย with theย BD350 discharge deviceย to significantly increase discharge performance. With the D200neo connected to the BD350 discharger, it becomes possible to discharge batteries at up to 40 amperes; allowing you to discharge batteries to storage voltage in no time. Furthermore, when connected to SkyRc Charger Master, you can view the discharge curve in real-time. Various batteries’ discharging curves can then be plotted for precise comparison and analysis, so defective batteries have nowhere to hide.

The D200neo isn’t just a charger, it also functions as a digital power supply too. It offers a configurable 5-27V output with 0.1V increments and 1-15A current setting.

This charger also benefits from a user-friendly interfaceย with a colour LCD display and a scroll button control. Furthermoreย with the SkyCharger app and the Charger Master software, you canย control and monitor the charging process via Bluetooth or USB connection.

The SKYRC D200neo charger is designed with safety and reliability in mind. It has a smart ventilation fan, a precision aluminium unibody enclosure, and multiple protection features such as short circuit, overload, reverse polarity, over temperature and over voltage.

Features:

  • 200W AC charging power
  • 800W DC charging power
  • Control via scroll wheel button
  • Lightweight and compact
  • With PD/QC3.0 fast charge
  • Compatible with SkyCharger App and Charger Master

IMPORTANT:ย Never charge batteries unattended! Constant supervision is required as batteries can be dangerous when mishandled. We recommend charging your batteries inside a protective charging bag.

Q If using an external dc psu of between 20 and 30v what amperage is advised answer now
    A

If you're using an external DC power supply between 20V and 30V for the SkyRC D200 Neo, the recommended amperage depends on how much charging power you want to use. Here's the breakdown:

    ๐Ÿ”‹ Charger Specs (DC Input):

    • Max DC input voltage: 30V

    • Max power per channel (DC): 400W

    • Max total input power (DC): 800W (400W x 2 channels)

    ๐Ÿ”ง Amperage Calculation Example:

    Power (W) = Voltage (V) ร— Current (A)

    • At 20V, to get 800W, you need 800 รท 20 = 40A

    • At 30V, to get 800W, you need 800 รท 30 โ‰ˆ 26.7A

    โœ… Recommended PSU Rating:

    • Voltage: 24โ€“30V (higher voltage = lower current for same power)

    • Amperage: At least 30A if you want to use the full potential of the charger.

      • For single-channel use only, a 20A PSU is often sufficient.

Advice

lipo fire risk

Lithium Polymer (LiPo) Battery Safety Guidelines

PLEASE READ AND KEEP FOR REFERENCE

Lithium Polymer (LiPo) batteries can be extremely dangerous if not handled correctly. A lithium fire can reach extremely high temperatures, is unpredictable and difficult to extinguish.

A standard four-cell 1500mAh LiPo battery at full charge stores a massive 25Wh (watt hours) of energy!

Please take these risks seriously. We advise following the guidelines below to safely use and maintain your LiPo batteries.

Disclaimer

This information sheet is provided to help our customers understand LiPo battery safety. However, you use this information at your own risk. Following good practices will also help to ensure the longevity of your battery packs.

By purchasing LiPo batteries or charging equipment from our store, you accept all risks related to their use. If you disagree, please contact us immediately to arrange a return before using the product.

1. Charging Safety

  • Use a proper charger: Always charge LiPo batteries with a LiPo-compatible charger.
  • Set the correct parameters: Charge at the recommended voltage and current settings specified by the manufacturer. Many fires occur due to incorrect charge settings. In most cases, the safest charge rate is 1C.
  • Double-check connections: Ensure that charging leads are connected correctly. Reverse charging can lead to cell damage or a fire.
  • Charge in a safe environment: Charge batteries on a non-flammable surface, in a fireproof container, and away from flammable materials.
  • Monitor while charging: Never leave charging batteries unattended. Stop charging immediately if the battery becomes hot or swollen.
  • Avoid overcharging: Never exceed 4.2V per cell (4.35V for LiHV Lithium-ion Polymer High-Voltage batteries).

2. Storage Safety

  • Storage voltage: For long-term storage, maintain a โ€˜storage chargeโ€™ voltage of 3.7V to 3.85V per cell.
  • Store in a cool, dry place: Always store your LiPo pack in a safe and non-flammable container away from flammable objects. A LiPo sack or metal/ceramic storage container is best. Avoid direct sunlight or high temperatures (above 60ยฐC/140ยฐF). The ideal storage temperature is 10ยฐC to 25ยฐC (50ยฐF to 77ยฐF).
  • Avoid full discharge: Never store batteries at full charge or with a low voltage (below 3.3V per cell).

3. Handling and Usage

  • Inspect regularly: Check batteries for any damage, swelling, or leaks before use.
  • Avoid physical damage: Protect batteries from impacts, punctures, and exposure to moisture or water.
  • Never short-circuit: Avoid contact between battery terminals. Do not store or transport batteries where they can come into contact with sharp or conductive materials (e.g., metal objects).
  • Use within limits: Stay within the manufacturerโ€™s recommended discharge rate and capacity ratings for safe operation.
  • Monitor during use: Use voltage alarms or onboard monitoring to prevent over-discharging (below 3.3V per cell).
  • Crashes: If a battery is damaged in a crash or shows changes in appearance (including swelling or gassing), move it to a safe place to observe, and discard it. Never attempt to charge a battery with physical damage, regardless of how minor the damage may seem.

4. Disposal

  • Lifespan: Rechargeable LiPo batteries do not last forever. Batteries that have lost 20% of their initial capacity should be removed from service and disposed of.
  • Dispose properly: Never throw LiPo batteries in the general waste. Dispose of them at certified recycling centres.
  • Prepare for disposal: Fully discharge batteries before disposal and tape the terminals to prevent short circuits.

5. In Case of Fire

  • Fire containment: If a LiPo battery catches fire, use a Class D fire extinguisher or sand to smother the fire. Avoid inhaling fumes and vacate the area immediately.
