The FPV Video Scrambler is a compact hardware solution for encrypting and decrypting analog FPV video signals, adding a layer of security to your video feed. Designed for CVBS video streams, it ensures that only receivers with the correct decryption key can view your transmission, making it ideal for applications where video privacy is important.
The module can be set to either encryption or decryption mode via a dip switch, with password protection configured through a UART interface (USB to TTL programming tool required) . Encrypted video is scrambled in real time, preventing unauthorised viewing, while the paired module restores the signal for clear playback. Please note: to create a working system you will need two units – one configured as the encoder (scrambler) and one as the decoder (descrambler).
Measuring just 34.5 × 34.5 mm and weighing 4.1 g, the board is lightweight and easy to integrate into FPV systems. Indicator LEDs provide at-a-glance status for power, video signal detection, and encryption/decryption mode. Power requirements are flexible, with a wide input range of 5–36V and built-in reverse polarity protection.
Key Features:
- Real-time CVBS (analog) video encryption and decryption
- Simple dip-switch mode selection (encrypt or decrypt)
- Secure password protection via UART (1–8 HEX characters)
- Wide 5–36V input with reverse polarity protection
- Lightweight and compact (34.5 × 34.5 mm, 4.1 g)
- Clear status LEDs for power, video detection, and working mode
Whether you’re flying FPV in sensitive environments, carrying out security or inspection work, conducting research projects, or simply want to keep your video feed private, this scrambler system offers an effective and easy-to-use solution.
