IMPORTANT: The TX16S Radio Controller now comes in two versions. A Multi-Protocol and a ELRS 2.4G version. Be sure to choose the correct RF version: The 4-in1 Multi-Protocol version supports protocols including FRSKY ACCST, Spektrum DSMX and FlySky ADHDS 2A etc. The ELRS version, supports 2.4GHz ExpressLRS protocol ONLY.  Both versions have a JR size module bay and can work with external modules i.e. a multi-protocol module, ELRS module or long range module.

The RadioMaster TX16S Mark II Radio Transmitter is the latest in radio transmitter technology. This radio features Hall Gimbals V4.0, a Multi-Protocol 4-in1 Internal Module, OpenTX and EdgeTX compatibility, and 2.4GHz radio frequency with 16 Channels. This updated design includes an easily removable battery cover, raised and flat grips for better ergonomics, and improved S1/S2 knobs with centre detents. The 4.3inch IPS colour display provides easy programming with touch panel precision and the brand new 3.5mm audio headphone jack and built-in dual speakers provide great audio options for pilots!

The RADIOMASTER TX16S is a high end, low cost, premium multi-protocol (applies to 4in1 Version not ELRS) radio that has great features and will allow you to fly a countless number of RC products. Being multi-protocol means you are not locked into one system such as FrSky, Spektrum, or FLYSKY, etc. You can link the TX16S to these popular protocols plus the not so popular ones that operate on 2.4GHz. The TX16S transmitter runs EdgeTX open source firmware which is fully supported by the EdgeTX development team. It is a fully functioning 16 channel radio with a 4.3inch color display screen, built-in USB-C charging, has voice functions, telemetry (protocol and receiver dependent), is crossfire compatible, has an external SD card slot, and much much more.

This version of the TX16S uses Radiomaster’s V4.0 Non-Contact 3D vector Hall effect sensor gimbals fitted with CNC aluminium facias. These gimbals provide the ultimate feel and precise control demanded by experts and beginners alike. Stick travel, self-centering and stick tension are now externally adjustable. Furthermore, the quality of the switch gear doesn’t stop at the gimbals. The easy to use and intuitive menus are accessed via a strong metal roller wheel (no plastic here!) and 6 push buttons on the front, all very simple to use.

There is a module slot in the back of the transmitter which will accept the popular JR/FrSky type of module which means you can be up and running almost instantly with your favourite protocol. The transmitter is also Mode selectable so can be either Mode 1 or Mode 2, this does however require the back being removed to move some mechanical components from one stick unit to the other. A battery tray is supplied which will accept either 2 x 3.7V 18650 Lithium-Ion batteries or 2 x 3.7V LiPo batteries. The large battery compartment (97x52x25mm) also has room for a 2S LiPo pack of your choice. A nice feature of this radio is that the batteries can stay in the compartment and be charged via the USB-C charging port. As an optional extra RADIOMASTER have a 7.4V 5000mah Li-Ion battery which is a direct fit into the radio compartment without the need to use the battery box (see related items). Other ports include a DSC for buddy box system, a USB for hooking up to a simulator, and 2 UART ports to expand the capabilities of the radio.

Overall this is an easy to use, multi-protocol transmitter that removes the need for you to have lots of different types of transmitters at your disposal. This one unit will operate just about all the different protocols on the market today.

Firmware Versions – FCC and EU LBT: Our stock is supplied with EU LBT firmware. Radios can be reflashed to FCC or vice versa, the hardware itself is not restricted. Please check the supported protocols below. To reflash the 4in1 version to unlock all protocols takes less than 5 minutes. Download the latest Multi-Module Firmware from here – Module Type: STM32 4-in1 / Radio Type: Serial / Channel Order AETR. The file name will be named: mm-stm-serial-aetr-vX.X.X.XX.bin. Load this file onto the Boxer radio’s SD card in the folder named firmware. Next on the radio, access the system menu. Use the Page button to find the SD card page, then enter on the firmware option. In there you should see the file you added to the SD card mm-stm-serial-aetr-v… enter on that (long press on the scroll wheel) then it gives you some options – select ‘Flash Int. Multi’. That’s it, the internal multi protocol module will now give you options for all MPM protocols.
