Description

The HOBBYFLY LiPo / LiHV Smart Battery Discharger provides a simple and reliable way to safely discharge 2S–6S batteries down to storage voltage. Designed for ease of use, the discharger automatically detects the connected battery cell count and begins discharging as soon as the battery is plugged in — no setup required.

Compatible with both LiPo and LiHV batteries, it features built-in XT30 and XT60 connectors for wide compatibility with popular RC packs. An integrated metal heatsink improves cooling performance and helps prevent overheating during operation. Once the battery reaches the correct storage voltage of 3.85V ±0.05V per cell, the discharger automatically stops and switches to an ultra-low leakage current mode to avoid over-discharging.

LED indicators display the detected cell count and charging status, making operation quick and straightforward. Compact and portable, it’s an ideal accessory for safely preparing batteries for storage after flying sessions.

Operation:

Connect the discharger to a compatible 2S–6S LiPo or LiHV battery using either the XT30 or XT60 connector.
The discharger will automatically detect the battery cell count and begin discharging.
Place the discharger in a well-ventilated area during use, as the heatsink will become warm.
Monitor the LED indicator to confirm battery detection and operating status:
- 2S: Blue and Red flashing
- 3S: Blue flashing
- 4S: Green flashing
- 5S: Red flashing
- 6S: Blue and Green flashing
Once the battery reaches storage voltage (3.85V per cell), the LEDs will turn off and discharging will stop automatically.
The discharger will then switch to an ultra-low leakage current mode, allowing the battery to remain connected without significant over-discharge risk.
Disconnect the battery after use and store it in a safe LiPo storage location.
For best performance and safety, always discharge batteries on a non-flammable surface and never leave batteries unattended while in use.
