This low weight and compact Thermal Imaging Camera is designed for racing drone sized quadcopters.
With it you will be able to detect heat signatures, identify obstacles and even see in low-visibility conditions that would be impossible to navigate using a normal camera. Beyond FPV drone flying, this mini thermal imaging camera is versatile and can be used for a variety of applications. Explore wildlife monitoring, search and rescue missions, scientific research, thermal inspections or even home security. In terms of image quality and performance, the image resolution is 640×512, operating with a 25Hz frame rate and a thermal contrast (NETD) of 50mk. The camera offers a choice of 20 colour palettes to pick from to suit different applications. These can be selected via push buttons on the rear of the camera or remotely via UART control.
A feature unique to this product is its support for a second external AV camera input. Any standard analog FPV camera can be connect to the TL300M7, allowing users to seamlessly switch between an IR image and a standard visual image. To setup the switch functions requires a PWM signal, this could be from your radio receiver or configured as a auxiliary output on a flight controller (pinio_box function).
The camera can be used with any analog FPV video transmitter. It comes housed in a aluminium case with a removal back cover that can be installed to protect the wiring. It also comes with a tilt adjustable mount.
The camera requires a 5-55v power supply. It also provides a 5V output to power an external standard AV camera.
