RunCam Night Cam Prototype

The Night Cam Prototype works as a recording camera, it can’t be used a FPV camera. What makes this camera really special is how well it sees in the darkness. It has incredible light sensitivity, allowing you to see images, in colour, you wouldn’t think possible even in the pitch blackness. The camera records in 2.7K resolution at up to 30FPS (the frame rate is automatically controlled by the camera to manage the exposure of the image – it works best for low motion scenarios).

The camera’s name ‘Prototype’ is more of a suggestion for the application of the camera, rather than the development of the camera itself. Uses could range from security applications to monitoring wildlife. It could be especially useful for astronomical observations, it even comes with a CS adapter. It can also be used as a webcam via its USB-C connection. Really there’s no limit to its usefulness, not even the night’s sky.

The camera is available in two versions: The camera and control board itself or a version of it housed in a 3D printed shell, which also comes with a 3D printed mount. Please note, both versions require a SD card for recording. The camera requires a 5V power supply. If you are using it as a webcam the USB connection will power the camera.
