The Makerfire Armor 85 doesn't look like your typical whoop. With its underslung camera and sleek canopy it has a pretty unique appearance. Its design is actually based around its function. Its a quad that been built not for racing or outdoor acro, but for capturing smooth cinematic aerial footage, hence it being classed as a cinematic micro drone, or cinewhoop for short.
Onboard it features the Caddx Turtle V2 Camera, which is used both for viewing FPV as well as recording onboard HD footage via a micro SD card. The low-slung mounting of the camera gets it out of the way of the props and it also have vibration damping, which results in a lot less Jello than other HD micro quads. The quality of the video is good for such a small device and certainly a lot better than 700TVL DVR footage. The camera can record in 1080P at 60FPS. While its HD camera might not compete at the level of a stand-alone device such as a GoPro or DJI drone the small nature of the Armor 85 means it can go where larger camera drones couldn't, letting you capture some unique flight footage.
When it comes to flight performance, the Armor 85 handles well. It's not the faster drone out there but it's certainly not slow either. Also its extra weight over a standard whoop makes it more stabile in the air and better suited to cruising and recording video. Performance can also be boasted by upgrading the stock 2S battery for a 3S LiPo.
The quad features an F3 flight controller running BetaFlight with OSD. Also 1103 10,000 kv motors with 10A ESCs.
This is the V2 version of the Armor 85. Upgrades include more durable prop ducts, new props and a higher capacity battery.
