The SkyRC 380P non-contact infrared thermometer is a must-have tool for RC hobbyists to track and evaluate critical temperatures. The 380P's ultra-compact design lets you slip it in your pocket and have it handy for quick, precise temperature readings at any time. SkyRC has engineered the 380P temperature measuring with accuracy down to 0.5℃and with a measuring range from -40°C to 380°C. Furthermore the ability to set an emissivity coefficient is another feature of the 380P which aids accurate measurements; different types of materials have different emissivity values. For any particular wavelength and temperature, the amount of thermal radiation emitted depends on the emissivity of the object's surface. For example, when viewing more reflective surfaces, with a lower emissivity, less radiation will be received by the thermometer than from a blackbody at the same temperature and so the surface will appear colder than it is unless the thermometer reading is adjusted to take into account the material surface emissivity. Here we have a table showing Emissivity Coefficients of some common Materials for RC products: The 380P thermometer has a precise distance-to-spot ratio of 6:1, meaning it can accurately measure targets at greater distances compared to many other non-contact thermometers. A 6:1 ratio means it measures an approximately one-inch-diameter spot when it's 6 inches from the target (about 2.5 cm at 30 cm). Choosing which prop/motor/ESC/battery combination works best for your multirotor is made much easier by using a power analyser like this one from ToolKitRC. While you can study spec sheets and use simulation tools like ecalc to help, there's no equivalent to actually getting to grips with the numbers yourself. With this advanced power meter you can measure; Current, Voltage, Peak Current (Amps), Power (Watts), Peak Power (Watts) and Capacity Accumulation (mAh) values in real-time. This information is displayed very clearly on its 2.4inch full colour display, which helpfully includes a graphical representation of the current draw. The meter is easily connected; it simply sits in-line between your battery and device. So if for example you were testing the running efficiency of a prop, you would have the meter wired in between your speed controller and battery. If you were monitoring the performance of your battery charger, you would connect the unit between the battery and the charger. The great thing about the meter is it includes a PWM output, so you can drive ESCs and Servos from the meter itself without needing to use radio control equipment or a servo tester.
