Just wondering if this unit will yaw indefinitely (internal slipring) or if there are enclosed wires that limit the rotation count?

Thanks!

By admin on

Hi John, sorry for the slow reply, I missed seeing your message. Yes it will yaw indefinitely, it has a slipring.

Hi,

Can you tell me if the GoPro is powered by the gimbal and also if the video is routed via the slip rings for FPV?  It looks like there is a connection to the camera but it is unclear regarding its function.

Thank you!

By admin on

There is a video connnection to the GoPro and it is routed via a slip ring, however there isn't a power connection, so the GoPro can't be powered from the gimbal.

HI, will this item be coming back in to stock at all? Any recommendations for a different one if you won't be restocking it?

By admin on

Hi, they no longer make the version with integrated FPV cable. We do have the version without FPV cable in stock.

By Mike Hallett on

Not much use without the "integrated FPV cable" ....

What are the alternatives... ?

I currently use a Tarot3Diii ... but it seems to have developed a very bad tilted horizon over-compensating roll off the level when in sustained sideways flight ...  Any ideas on either how to fix that ? ... or replace.... I have read other people with Tarot3Diii also suffering tilted horizon issues.

Mike

Brushless gimbals are currently a hot topic in the quadcopter world. If you want to fly a camera beneath your multirotor and capture super smooth shots you will need one. You might be wondering why you should go for a 3 axis brushless gimbal and not a 2 axis, which are lighter. The obvious answer is the third axis gives you extra stabilisation and hence smoother footage. A 2 axis gimbal has no stabilisation in the pan axis, thus yaw drift from wind or imprecise pilot control will be seen in the footage (look closely at the edge of footage shot by a 2 axis gimbal in windy conditions - more often than not you will see lateral oscillation. This is produced as a result of the flight controller fighting to counteract disturbances – check out this video for an example - see from 0:30. In addition to the stablising benefit, a 3 axis also opens up many new perspectives; particularly in you have a camera operator. By having a yaw axis, the gimbal becomes truly independent from the drone - this disconnection allows for new shooting opportunities; smooth pans, and target locking.
